Reason #1 to vote for Bobby Schilling: He’s not Phil Hare.

Yes, Phil Hare just straight up doesn’t care.

Here’s a short list of things Phil Hare doesn’t care about:

• The Constitution
• Out of control government spending
• Constituent services… seriously? 18 months to answer a letter? Sending jobs away because they weren’t going to unionize? Seriously?
• Fixing the economy. He either doesn’t care about job creation or he doesn’t get it.
• Life
• Illegal immigration
• Gun rights
• The truth. Remember the story about Phil lying about a constituent in Quincy? Um, yeah. (http://pharewellphil.com/2010/04/hares-little-white-lie/)

Here’s a short list of things Phil Hare DOES care about:

• Labor union thugs
• Getting on Nancy Pelosi’s good side
• Yeah, that’s about it.

It’s time for a change. The 17th District is currently being represented by an out of touch liberal more interested in servicing Nancy Pelosi than serving his constituents.

I don’t know about you, but I believe in Bobby.

This blog is dedicated entirely to the Congressional 17th District race between incumbent Phil Hare (D) and challenger Bobby Schilling (R). There’s also some other guy running who can’t spell. It’s been a fascinating race, and it will continue to be as we approach Election Day.

There are exactly four months between now and the day we will find out who will represent the 17th District. Exactly four months of biased press coverage and delicious ad hominem attacks. Four months of nonstop campaigning. And we’ll be here for all of it.

You know what? I believe in Bobby Schilling.

I’m a conservative who has been frustrated by the Republican Party’s behavior throughout the 2000s. I’m a conservative who’s been disgusted with the Democratic Party’s behavior the last two years. And now it’s time for a change.

Bobby Schilling is that change. Bobby Schilling isn’t a career politician, and he has no desire to be. He isn’t a guy looking to line his pockets or accumulate power. He’s a guy who feels called to public service to help fix a broken system. He’s a guy who wants to leave his kids the same amazing country his parents have left him. He believes in the American dream, and he won’t sit there and accept that America’s best days are behind it.

I wouldn’t blindly support a Republican candidate unless I believed in him/her. And I believe in Bobby. He’s honest, he’s real, and he’s exactly what we need in Washington right now. He’s going to be a citizen legislator who’s actually looking out for you and me, as opposed to the special interests and labor union thugs.

This blog will cover day-to-day news on the campaign trail, as well as outline reasons to vote for Bobby Schilling on November 2nd. There are a LOT of them, and they will be enumerated.

We have to get this man elected. Phil Hare, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest of the Democratic leadership have done enough damage to this great country. On November 2nd, we’ll begin the healing process.
